Jeremy Irons and Kathy Bates both took home the OSCAR and Golden Globe for "Reversal of Fortune" and "Misery" respectively.
The two leads of "Cinema Paradiso" (Philippe Noiret and Salvatore Cascio) took the male acting awards at the BAFTA's, while the other notable gongs went to Julia Roberts for "Pretty Woman" at the Globes, and Joe Pesci's supporting "Goodfellas" gangster at the OSCARS.

The OSCARS, Golden Globes, and BAFTA's all have a Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress category. However, the Globes also have additional Best Actor & Actress categories for roles in Musical & Comedy films. Therefore an entire "awards season" for the three major ceremonies involves fourteen different awards on offer.
